Steering column & Factory Pedals

In order to install the 4-speed pedals, we (Ben and I) needed to remove the factory pedals as well as the steering column.  The gauges were also removed and will be cleaned and ‘restored’ soon.

More Engine

Applied the 2nd coat of POR-15 Hemi-Orange paint.  Also managed to pick up an Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake from the same guy that I got the flywheel/bellhousing from.  Topped off with a Holley and it’s looking like an engine.

Engine Paint

Got the POR-15 engine primer and 1st coat of Hemi-Orange spread on the engine.

Mopar Performance Valve Cover Restoration

I decided to sandblast the Mopar Performance Valve covers and restore them.  After blasting them, I used a red scotch-brite pad to scuff them.  I then coated them with some black VHT (Very High Temperature) header paint that contained ceramic chips.  After that dried, I used some 220-grit, 400-grit, 800-grit and finally 1000-grit paper to get the chrome below the letters and fins shine.  After that, they were  coated with some VHT clear.  They came out looking GREAT.
