1967 Barracuda Drive-by..

On the road…

Sees the Light of Day

A little primer on the front fenders to protect the bare metal.

The car finally sees the light of day.  Installed the windsheild and bolted on the hood.  Took it on a maiden voyage up/down the street rattling some windows.

Few more items checked off…

Installed the grille, front bumper and reverse light wiring harness.  Also, replaced the plywood trunk/interior separation panel as the old one was completely rotted.

Grill and headlight bezel = Part II

Decided to go without the red pinstripe…

Walk around

Getting closer.  Need to do some bodywork/paint… put some seats in (interior will be done later)…

“You wanna lay a little tire?”

A Good Day

Got the Neutral Safety Switch straightened out by grounding it at the relay.  Now she starts with the key.  Also lowered the rear by moving the springs up the top hole in the shackles and replaced the brake distribution block with a proportioning valve.   A good day.

No oil leaks after replacing the oil pan gasket and good oil pressure too.

Dashboard stripped & primed

Stripped the dash and blasted the glove box and ash tray.  Hit them with a red scotchbrite and wax and grease remover.  After that, applied some DP90 expoxy primer (black) then good coat of sandable primer (gray).  Next is some wet sanding and color…stay tuned.

Dash bezel and Glove Box trim

Since the theme has turned into a candy red and gloss black… I sandblasted and cleaned the dash and glove box bezel.  They were worn out an either needed fixed or replaced.  In case you haven’t looked at the price of replacing the dash bezel recently, I decided to fix/paint them.  They will be gloss black with silver hightlights as seen by the Wiper piece.

Passenger door installed

Removed the factory paint from the passenger door hinge area, primered it and installed the passenger door.  Fits really well.

New Harmonic Balancer and Crank Pully

The engine has some kind of oil leak near the balancer, but only when the alternator and P/S pump belts are installed and tightened.  I decided it was time for a new balancer and pulley…
